Project Description

SEALING HATCHES

Driving security cargo decentralized

WHAT WE DO

CaptainAR surveyors conduct Hatch Sealing inspections to ensure that no contamination or loss of cargo occurs during the sea voyage prior to final destination.

These surveys are conducted on board the vessel at the completion of loading.

CaptainAR surveyors carry out the sealing of all cargo hold accesses, including hatch covers and manhole accesses, using either box seals or lead wire seals;

«a “Hatch Sealing Certificate” is provided to the vessel at the completion of the survey, certifying that all hatches and accesses were sealed. »

HOW WE DO IT

When transporting bulk cargo it is advisable that hatch sealing is performed in order to provide evidence that the hatches were secure and any access to the hold as barred from the moment loading was completed to the moment when the hatches were unsealed.

WHAT WE DELIVER

These surveys include the following:

• The sealing of all cargo hold accesses, including hatch covers and manhole accesses, using either box seals or lead wire seals.

• Lead wire seals may be serialized and recorded at the request of the client.

• A Hatch Sealing Certificate is provided to the vessel at the completion of the survey, certifying that all hatches and accesses have been sealed.

«This certificate is signed by both the attending Surveyor and the vessel’s Master.»
